When Oakland hosted the annual Black Expo from July 10-13, 2003,
FastLane Tek was called in to setup the Internet access for the
convention. In a project initiated by the Small Business Administration, Technical
Advisory Program, FastLane Tek successfully covered 65,000 square feet of the Oakland
Convention Center with a wireless network and Internet access for the vendors
and convention participants.
Black Expo, which organizers claim is the largest event in Northern California geared to African Americans, is
an annual event promoting economic development and opportunity in the East Bay's black community.
